A collaborative pilot study with Western Sydney University evaluating the delivery, impact, and future potential of Aquatic Therapy for people with complex needs.
• Evaluate current Aquatic Therapy service delivery.
• Capture experiences of participants and carers through interviews.
• Analyse service data to identify potential benefits, efficacy and areas for improvement.
• Lay the foundation for a 15-year program of research into Aquatic Therapy effectiveness and best practice.
• Semi-structured interviews (30–60 mins) with parents/carers.
• Secondary data analysis of existing Aquatic Therapy records.
• Ethical processes in place to protect confidentiality (all data de-identified).
Findings will help:
• Build an evidence base for Aquatic Therapy in Australia
• Inform service development and future practice
• Contribute to longer-term research into therapy efficacy and implementation
• By evaluating how Aquatic Therapy is delivered and experienced, this research aims to strengthen the knowledge base,
guide service delivery, and support better outcomes for people with complex needs.
